A small popup over your address bar made you click on the 'Allow' button. From that time you start getting those push notifications on your browser. Sometimes it's good as it allows you to stay connected and get updates from your favourite blogs and website. We can say, they are the new RSS feeds or email newsletters.
But sometimes, you accidentally click on the push notification allow button on some unwanted websites. Or you get excited and subscribe to too many websites via push notifications. What follows is the cyclone of updates you start receiving from these websites within a few hours and continued every day. It really gets bad when you open the browser after 2-3 days (like in your office system after the weekend holiday) and you are greeted with tons of push notification.

Disabling Website Push Notification on Chrome web browser
You can use the guide to either disable web push notification from all subscribed websites or selected few websites. To get start fire up up your Google Chrome web browser.
Go to Chrome settings page via clicking on the menu (three dots on the right-hand side of the address bar) and selecting 'settings' from there. Now under the Chrome settings page, scroll down to 'Privacy' section and under that click on 'Content settings'.

Under the Chrome content Settings section, scroll down to 'Notifications' section. Here you have the option to disable push notifications from all websites you have previously subscribed. For that, you just need to de-select the 'Ask before sending'.
But we won't recommend that, as push notification offers a quick and easy way to stay connected with your favourite websites (like ours). You can, however, block unwanted websites from sending the push notification.
In the notification settings, you can see the complete list of websites you have subscribed under web push notification. The website list is divided into 'Block' or websites you have blocked from sending the push notifications and 'Allow' or website you have allowed sending push notifications.
To add a website to the block list, click on 'ADD' button in the block section and input the website you want to block. For example [*.]samplewebsite.com, this will completely disable web push notification for that particular website (including its subdomains). Similarly, you can add any website to the 'Allow' list by clicking on 'ADD' button and input the website you want to allow.
You can also click on the three dotted menus across each domain to remove the website (domain) or edit the website link from the Chrome push notification list. When removing a domain from the notification list, the next time you visit the website, you will again get the prompt to subscribe to push notification from the website. So, if you don't want to get the prompt to subscribe and don't want the push notification from that website, just add the domain to 'Block' list.
Disabling Website Push Notification on Chrome mobile browser
The method to disable web push notification on your Chrome mobile browser remains the same. Open up your Chrome mobile browser and from the menu select 'Settings'. Then scroll down to 'Site Settings' and under that select 'Notifications'.
There you will find the list of website you have subscribed to send website push notification to your device. You can completely block all push notification by disabling 'Ask before allowing sites to send notifications'.
For selectively disabling push notification to certain websites, select the website (domain) name from the notification list. Then click the 'Notification' under 'Permission' section. You can now select 'Block' to stop receiving the push notifications from the website. You can also click on the 'Clear and Reset' button to remove the website (domain) from the notification exceptions list. But you will be again prompted to subscribe to push notification when you visit the website again.
Disabling Website Push Notification on Firefox web browser
You can use the guide to either disable web push notification for all subscribed websites or selected few websites in Mozilla Firefox web browser. To start, open your Firefox browser and select 'Preference' under the menu. From preference section select the 'Content panel'. From there click on the 'Choose...' button under 'Notifications' section.
You will now get the complete list of websites, you have subscribed to website push notification. You can individually select each website and click on the 'Remove site' button to stop the website from sending push messages. However, you can also stop all websites from sending push notifications by clicking 'Remove All Sites' button. Note that, next time you visit the website it will again ask your permission to send a push notification, where you can either choose to 'Allow or Block'.
Disabling Website Push Notification on Safari browser
If you are a Mac user then website push notification on Safari browser acts somewhat differently. Instead of the push notifications appearing along with the browser, it is shown in the Mac 'Notification Center'. Here is how to stop web push notification Safari browser.
Open up the Safari Web browser and from the top bar on your Mac click on the 'Safari' menu and under it select 'Preferences...'. This will open up the preference tab and under that select the 'Notification' tab.
There you find all websites, which you have given permission to show alerts or push notifications in 'Notification Center'. To stop all push notifications from websites you have already subscribed, click on the 'Remove All' button. However, each website will again ask for permission to show push notification when you visit it.
To block certain websites from sending push notifications, select 'Deny' across the website. This will block the particular website from sending any push notification to 'Notification Center' in future.
You can also completely disable push notification from websites by de-selecting 'Allow websites to ask for permission to send push notifications'.
Disabling Website Push Notification on Opera browser
Stopping web push notification on Opera web browser is way similar to that of Chrome browser. To start with, open Opera web browser, open a new tab and type -

Under Opera settings page, select the 'Websites' tab under Preferences and scroll down to the 'Notifications' section. Similar to Chrome browsers, you have the option to disable push notification from all websites by selecting 'Do not allow any site to show notifications'.
You can also block unwanted websites from sending a push notification. For that click on the 'Manage exceptions...' button under 'Notifications' section. You now see the complete list of websites you have subscribed under web push notification. You can choose any website from the list and under 'Behaviour' select Allow or Block from the drop-down. Selecting 'Block' will completely disable web push notifications for that particular website.
You can also remove the website from Opera notification exceptions list by clicking on the cross (X). But then next time when you visit the website, it will again ask your permission to subscribe to push notification. So, if you don't want to get the prompt to subscribe and don't want the push notifications from that website, just select 'Block' under the Opera notification exceptions list for that website. Click on the 'Finished' button to save your new settings under Opera notification exceptions list.

We argue you not to disable push notification completely, as it's the modern way to quickly get updates from a website. But block only those websites who misuse this service and send unwanted messages through this medium.
